20. Jan 2007 - Research network "Energy-Optimised Construction" at BAU 2007 in Munich

Abstract
Energy efficiency was one of the emphases at BAU 07. At the marketplace "Construction work on existing buildings" in hall B0 the research network "Energy-Optimised Construction" (EnOB), sponsored by the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology (BMWi), presented new technologies, materials and concepts for construction work on existing buildings. The visitors were able to get a picture of the EnOB research areas. Several presentations by the research teams provided an insight into teh projects. Lively interest was shown for the exhibits of vacuum panel, vacuum glazings and switchable glazings.
more details
The objects of interest and the events concerning energy efficiency:
Hall B0: Marketplace "Construction work on existing buildings"
In hall B0, all initiatives and activities related to the areas of refurbishment, renovation and modernisation have been presented. This also included the research network "Energy-Optimised Construction", sponsored by the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology (BMWi), which presented new technologies, materials and concepts for construction work on existing buildings:
- vacuum glas
- vacuum insulation panels
- switchable glazing (thermochrome und electrochrome)
- textile facade elements and climate and sun-canvas
- sun-protection-glazing with micro-structure
- optimized building operation with simulated diagnostics and prognosis.
- MASEA databank – material for refurbishment
15 – 16 January 2007: Conference "Building energy efficiency!"
In this conference, organised by the German Federal Ministry of Transport, Building and Urban Affairs BMVBS), scientists from the EnOB research network presented technological solutions and concepts of the future. This includes modern building concepts and integration of technical equipment into buildings, but also the implementation of new materials and technologies, such as vacuum insulation for facades and glazing, as well as adaptive, selective and adjustable materials.
18 January 2007: Symposium "Planning and building the future"
On the occasion of this symposium, organised by the German Federal Ministry of Transport, Building and Urban Affairs (BMVBS), Projektträger Jülich presented the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology's key research area "Energy-Optimised Construction" (EnOB) in hall B0 at 3pm.
