24. Jun 2009 - EnOB projects at the ASHRAE Annual Conference in the USA

Abstract
As part of the Annual Conference held by ASHRAE, the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air-Conditioning Engineers that sets globally recognised standards for building services technology, a seminar on “Building High Performance with Exergy: European Perspectives” took place today. European approaches to energy-optimised construction were presented at the seminar. The speakers – all of whom are involved in EnOB (Energy-Optimised Construction) research projects – gave presentations about the EnOB research initiative and selected projects.
more details
This year’s ASHRAE conference was held in Louisville, Kentucky (USA). Within the focus area of exergy, the programme included a seminar at which the European (or more accurately, German) technological approaches to high-performance buildings were presented. Even with all the optimism in the USA itself, there is still great interest there in models from Germany and Europe. The research and model projects of the EnOB research initiative attracted particular interest. The aim of the seminar was to present concepts and selected results. These projects attract interest abroad not least because the projects have gone through scientific long-term monitoring in real operation and in this way the building and energy concepts have been successfully tested in practice.
The individual contributions
