29. Jul 2008 - EnOB new building awarded BDA Brandenburg architecture prize

Framework project EnBau

more details

Every four years, the BDA Brandenburg awards the ‘Prize for Good Constructions’, correspondingly, projects implemented in Brandenburg between 2004 and 2008 were able to be submitted this year. The jury, laden with prominent persons such as Gesine Schwan (Frankfurt/Oder), Falk Jaeger (Berlin) and architects Volkwin Marg (Hamburg), Amandus Sattler (Munich) and Eva Lang (Dresden), awarded the prize to a new construction which could close the gap on Pavillonplatz in Eberswalde left during the war.

Work on the collection of buildings in Eberswalde was conducted to repair the city's structure, in such a way as to carefully join onto the still intact surroundings, and to reconnect existing designs and constructions with the objectives of strengthening the identity of the existing public spaces, and of establishing a new public space. At the same time, the buildings were constructed with very low energy requirements and a high level of comfort.
