Status seminar on the efficient use of district heating for LowEx buildings

Abstract
Date: 4 - 5 October 2007
Location: Berlin
This seminar is intended to mutually benefit two areas of technology: New low-exergy concepts for building energy systems and innovative approaches for classic district heating systems. Current R&D projects from both areas will be presented and jointly discussed. This event will sound out ways of combining both approaches to provide potential for optimising the energy supply to town districts. Appropriate research methods and approaches will be discussed.
More details
Its objective is the holistic examination of building energy systems, mainly from a primary energy and exergetic perspective, and energy supply systems for town districts, residential areas or towns. For this purpose, current research projects will be presented and discussed. A panel discussion will take place to examine the collaboration between both areas, their contribution to increasing energy efficiency and potential future R&D approaches. The integral systems for town areas and districts presented in the closing session area aimed at providing a perspective on energy-efficient supply of town areas.
The seminar is organised by the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology (BMWi) in conjunction with the German Heat and Power Association(AGFW), Vattenfall Europe AG and Project Management Jülich.
