"Energy-Efficient School Refurbishment" workshop

Abstract
Date: 9. March 2007
Location: Stuttgart
In the workshop on 9 March in Stuttgart, current model projects are presented, and the next steps and goals of the initiative "Energy-Efficient School Refurbishment" are defined.
More details
Our education system must be modernised. But also in many school buildings, in which our children should be learning in a modern way, there is an accumulated backlog of overdue modernisation and refurbishment that cannot be overlooked. The concepts and technologies which are available today, right through to the plus-energy building, are demonstrated in selected model projects. The workshop is presented by the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology (BMWi), Project Management Jülich, and the Fraunhofer Institute for Building Physics. The workshop's topics are:
- Information about current model projects
- Sharing of experience gathered, between the various organisations involved in project sponsorship (ministries, project-executing organisations, German state and federal energy agencies, the German Reconstruction Loan Corporation (KfW), etc.) and project implementation (research institutes, architects and planners)
- Tangible steps to initiate further development of the BMWi support initiative "Energy-Efficient School Refurbishment"
