Energy efficiency in PPP – Sustainability in competition

Abstract
Date: 3 June 2010
Location: Hanover, Germany
Buildings are not just major causers of climate change. The existing technologies also offer considerable potential for reducing CO2 emissions. However, how can innovative technologies be implemented at a time when there are empty purses, growing demands on buildings and complicated legal requirements? With the specialist workshop entitled “Energieeffizienz in PPP – Nachhaltigkeit im Wettbewerb”, successful concepts for buildings schemes involving public-private partnerships are presented and the resulting experiences and opportunities for the future discussed.
More details
The specialist workshop is the final event in the “Neues Regionshaus Hanover – Energy-optimised construction in PPP” research project organised by the Institute of Building Services and Energy Design (IGS) at the Technical University of Braunschweig. The project and the event have been funded by the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology. This event is principally concerned with the following aspects:
- Which objectives are realistic?
- Which concepts and parameters are suitable?
- How informative are the new calculation methods?
- How can the objectives be anchored in various procedures?
- How can quality be assured in the design, construction and operation?
Experienced speakers will present the latest developments in sustainable construction and discuss the potential offered by public-private-partnership building projects. The detailed programme is provided on the event flyer. It also includes a fax registration form. It is also possible to register online at the IGS website.
Venue: Regionshaus, Hanover, Germany
There will also be a project presentation on the Regionshaus building in Hanover where the event is taking place.
