More details

From the 15th to the 20th of January 2007, around 2,000 exhibitors from 40 countries will present innovative products, technologies and systems at Europe's largest building materials trade fair. Thus, BAU will cover the entire premises of the New Munich Trade Fair Centre: 180,000 m² in 17 exhibition halls. One of the many focal areas is energy efficiency. On this topic, a special exhibition and various events will take place:

Hall B0: Marketplace "Construction work on existing

Right across all exhibition areas, the topic of construction work on existing buildings will be a focal area at BAU 2007. In view of stagnating population figures, ample supply of accommodation, and government regulations on energy-efficient construction, the modernisation and repair of existing buildings is playing an ever more significant role all throughout Europe. In hall B0, all initiatives and activities related to the areas of refurbishment, renovation and modernisation will be presented. This will also include the research network "Energy-Optimised Construction", sponsored by the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology (BMWi), which will present new technologies, materials and concepts for construction work on existing buildings.

15 – 16 January 2007: Conference "Building energy efficiency!"

In this conference, organised by the German Federal Ministry of Transport, Building and Urban Affairs BMVBS), scientists from the EnOB research network will present technological solutions and concepts of the future. This includes modern building concepts and integration of technical equipment into buildings, but also the implementation of new materials and technologies, such as vacuum insulation for facades and glazing, as well as adaptive, selective and adjustable materials.

18 January 2007: Symposium "Planning and building the future"

On the occasion of this symposium, organised by the German Federal Ministry of Transport, Building and Urban Affairs (BMVBS), Projektträger Jülich will present the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology's key research area "Energy-Optimised Construction" (EnOB) in hall B0 at 3pm.
