19-21 October 2010 - High performance energy systems

With this international conference, the international working group from IEA ECBCS Annex 49 “Low Exergy Systems for High Performance Building and Communities” will be presenting and discussing the results of its three-year research activities, which are now coming to a conclusion. New approaches for supplying energy to buildings and local communities will be presented in the form of expert talks. Parallel to this, a student workshop will be held, which will enable undergraduate and postgraduate PhD students from relevant study courses to be involved in the conference.

14-23 September 2010 - 2010 Summer Academy – Architecture with Energy

The EnOB research initiative is organising a summer academy for the second time. Under the motto “Architecture with Energy”, the 2010 Summer Academy is aimed at architecture students in the fourth specialist semester and above. Based on actual case studies, the participants can learn about designing and planning energy-optimised buildings: These are high-performance buildings that offer high degrees of comfort while at the same time minimising energy requirements and operating costs.

28-29 June 2010 - Expert workshop on thermal energy storage systems

Experts from various scientific fields and industry will meet in Berlin on 28 and 29 June 2010 to discuss the potential and limits for increasing the energy storage density. Project Management Jülich and the German Research Foundation (DFG) are organising this workshop in order to present and discuss the latest laboratory findings from fundamental and application-based research in the field of thermal energy storage.

3 June 2010 - Energy efficiency in PPP – Sustainability in competition

Buildings are not just major causers of climate change. The existing technologies also offer considerable potential for reducing CO2 emissions. However, how can innovative technologies be implemented at a time when there are empty purses, growing demands on buildings and complicated legal requirements? With the specialist workshop entitled “Energieeffizienz in PPP – Nachhaltigkeit im Wettbewerb”, successful concepts for buildings schemes involving public-private partnerships are presented and the resulting experiences and opportunities for the future discussed.
