PCM-Symposium am 10.-11. November 2009 in Karlsruhe
Framework project LowEx

10-11 November 2009 - PCM symposium: room cooling with phase change materials

This event will showcase the current state of the art in research. There will be presentations of various PCM systems and how they work, practical implementation options will be demonstrated, project results will be announced and practical experience discussed. In addition, an overview will be provided of activities in Germany concerning the use of PCM in buildings. At the same time, the symposium will also give those present an opportunity to find out more from the manufacturers themselves about the PCM products and systems that are available on the market.

Im Auftrag des BMWi veranstaltet daher das Fraunhofer-Institut für Bauphysik (IBP) in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Fraunhofer-Institut für Solare Energiesysteme (ISE) und dem E.ON Research Center der RWTH-Aachen am 28. – 29. Oktober 2009 ein Symposium

28-29 October 2009 - LowEx symposium: interim results for low-exergy projects

The LowEx consortium, which is supported by the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology as part of the EnOB research initiative, takes stock: a symposium on low-exergy systems and the LowEx projects is being held on 28-29 October 2009. The event is organised by the Fraunhofer Institute for Building Physics (IBP) in conjunction with the Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems (ISE) and the E.ON Research Center at RWTH Aachen University.

1 October 2009 - International BuildingEQ Symposium: Linking European EPBD and Commissioning

Continuous monitoring of a building’s performance offers considerable opportunities to optimise comfort and energy efficiency. The aim of this event is to organise a dialogue on the subject of optimising the operation of buildings. Various approaches and trends in the monitoring of buildings will be presented and discussed. Facility managers, building owners, specialist planners, energy agencies and energy service companies have the opportunity to find out about the European BuildingEQ project and about international trends and prospects in building monitoring. The conference will be conducted in English. There will be a get-together on the evening before the conference.

Am 29. September 2009 findet in Valley am Fraunhofer IBP Holzkirchen das 2. Fachsymposium "Multifunktionale Membrankissen-Konstruktion" statt

29. September 2009 - Multi-functional membrane cushion construction: 2nd symposium

Recent prestigious buildings feature membranes as an independent construction material, from which complete building envelopes can be realised. An alliance of six Fraunhofer institutes has been working on pneumatically assisted membrane cushion constructions. The results and exhibits from three years of research work are presented at the symposium and accompanying trade exhibition.

21.-30. September 2009 - Summer Academy 2009 – Architecture with Energy

The EnOB research initiative is organising the Summer Academy 2009 under the banner of “Architecture with Energy”. This training event is aimed at architecture students from the fourth specialised semester onwards who wish to familiarise themselves with the planning of high-performance buildings with the help of concrete case studies. High-performance buildings offer high degrees of comfort while at the same time minimising energy requirements and operating costs. The Summer Academy is being planned and organised by the Prof. Karsten Voss’ accompanying research team at the University of Wuppertal.
