The Solar Info Center (SIC) is an investor project that offers approximately 14,000 m² of space for businesses with innovative products and services in the field of renewable energy sources. The design concept includes offices, a conference area and two outlets for consumers. The building’s energy requirements are 30% lower than the maximum limits imposed by German Energy Saving Ordinance 2007. This is achieved thanks to a sophisticated building concept and also by supplying heat via a district heating network from the neighbouring CHP plant at the University Hospital Freiburg.
