Player in the projects below:

Technology status: Phase 3
Framework project ViBau

Second-generation vacuum insulation

In this research project, a production process for a new type of vacuum panel has been developed. Loose silica powder can now be directly processed to form vacuum insulation panels. This enables special shapes to be realised such as vacuum panels with continuously stepped profiles or cylindrical, curved vacuum elements. The new vacuum insulation panels have already been successfully tested in practice in various buildings.

Building type Office buildings
Projektstatus: Phase 5
Framework project EnSan

General refurbishment to create an office building to the passive house standard

The office building on the site of the former Thiepval barracks was in a poor structural condition when it was bought. With the refurbishment of their new office building in Tübingen, ebök GmbH were able to considerably reduce the heating and electricity requirements and increase the comfort in summer. It is the first building worldwide to be awarded a passive house certificate for its refurbishment.

Entwicklung und praxisnaher Test der Performance von Gebäudekomponenten mit PCM in Demonstrationsobjekten (PCM-Demo)
Technology status: Phase 4
Framework project LowEx

Passive cooling and PCM together

Construction systems with integrated phase-change materials (PCM) can store a high degree of heat at room temperature. They can be used to regulate the temperature of rooms in an energy-efficient manner, even without active systems. As part of this research project, materials, components and systems based on salt hydrates were developed, promising applications were identified, and various systems implemented and tested as pilot projects.
